FU-type chain conveyor



1. Overview

The FU chain conveyor (referred to as "chain conveyor" for short) is a new generation of conveying equipment developed by our company, which is relatively advanced in China. It is developed by introducing the technology from Japan's Daido and Tsujimoto Corporation, combining the advantages of domestic similar products, and summarizing the problems existing in the practical application of general conveying equipment. It features advanced principles, novel and reasonable structure, high efficiency and energy saving. It is an ideal product to replace the screw conveyor. It has been widely used in industries such as building materials, chemical industry, thermal power, grain processing, mining, machinery, smelting, transportation, ports, and conveying.

II. Working Principle

There are internal friction and internal pressure between each particle of bulk materials. When the conveying chain of the conveyor and its accessories move, the bulk materials in the trough of the conveyor are subjected to a pulling force in the same direction as the movement direction of the conveying chain, which increases the internal pressure between the bulk material particles, thereby increasing the internal friction between the bulk materials. When this internal friction is greater than the friction between the bulk materials and the side wall of the trough, the bulk materials will move forward along the movement direction of the conveying chain, and the increased internal pressure ensures the stable state between the layers of the bulk materials, thus forming an overall continuous flow, just like water flow. (When the ratio of the material layer height to the trough height meets certain conditions, the material flow is stable, and the material speed is approximately equal to the chain speed.)

III. Typical Conveyable Materials

FU chain conveyors can transport over a thousand types of powdery, granular, and small lumpy materials. Typical examples include:

Cement finished products, cement raw meal, yellow sand, limestone powder, coal powder, coke powder, fly ash, wood chips, crushed ice, stone powder, urea, synthetic fertilizers, soap powder, baking soda powder, soda ash, graphite, plastic particles, polyethylene, resin, potassium sulfate, ammonium sulfide, clay powder, quartz sand, iron ore powder, crushed slag, table salt, starch, wheat, cottonseeds, crushed feed, maltose, rice, corn, soybeans, etc.

Fourth, Main Features

  • Large conveying capacity: Compared with other types of conveyors, the FU chain conveyor has the advantages of small volume and large conveying capacity. It only needs 1/5 of the space of a belt conveyor or 2/3 of the space of a screw conveyor to convey materials of the same flow rate. The conveying capacity ranges from 6m[1]³/h to 500m[2]³/h.
  • Long service life and low operating costs: The conveyor chain made of alloy steel through scientific heat treatment has a normal service life of more than 5 years, and the service life of the rollers on the chain is not less than 1 year (they are wearing parts of the whole machine). This ensures that the annual maintenance is less than once, which greatly reduces the operating costs and improves the production efficiency.
  • Low energy consumption: With the help of the internal friction of materials, most of the work done by moving parts is converted into effective work. The use of chain hook conveying greatly reduces the resistance of materials to it, making its energy consumption only 30% to 60% of that of screw conveyors.
  • Sealed and Safe: The entire machine is fully sealed, preventing dust from entering through any gaps. It is easy and safe to operate, with reliable performance.
  • Flexible process layout: It allows the selection of multiple types of inlet and outlet ports at any position of the machine shell, and can be arranged on an elevated platform, the ground or a pit, and can be installed horizontally or on a slope (≤15°).
  • Complete series: The FU series includes various models such as FU150, FU200, FU270, FU350, FU410, FU500, FU600, and FU700.
  • The comprehensive investment benefits are excellent, and the equipment investment can be recovered in about one year.

  • Left installation refers to the situation where, when viewed from the tail (feed inlet) of the chain conveyor towards the head (discharge outlet), the driving device is on the left side.
  • Right installation: When viewed from the tail (feed inlet) of the chain conveyor towards the head (discharge outlet), the driving device is on the right side.

  • The basic conveying capacity is formulated with materials such as cement. The actual conveying capacity can be controlled within the range of 0-20% less than the recommended values in this table. When used in other industries to convey materials with low abrasiveness and a temperature of < 60℃, the chain speed can be further increased (the maximum chain speed can reach 40m/min, see Table 2).
